About Us

CDS Security & Fire was founded in 1986 and geographically covers the North East of England, including County Durham, Sunderland, Newcastle, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, Cleveland, Stockton, Middlesbrough and North Yorkshire.

We have always recognised that you, as our customer, have a choice not only in who installs your system but who will maintain and service your system in years to come.

As well as working directly with end-users, we also work with main contractors, architects, electrical consultants and facilities management companies throughout the UK to ensure the effective design, support and integrity of their (and our) clients systems.

Our aim is that you will continue to choose our company for your future Security, Fire and DDA needs.

To achieve this, we recognise that our greatest assets are our people; we can offer you continuity of service and accountability. We have probably the lowest turnover of engineers and staff of any independent electronic security company in the North East. The person who takes your initial call, the surveyor who carries out your survey, specification and design, and the engineer who installs your system will also be the people who look after the system in the years to follow.

Since inception, company policy has been to provide customers with expert advice, professional installations and a consistent after-sales/Maintenance service. This policy has gained CDS a very loyal and satisfied customer base. (Over 75% of our work is initiated following referrals from existing clients/customers.)

95% of our employees have been with us from leaving school/college. Technicians now undertake an extensive college based 3 year advanced modern apprenticeship, including NVQ’s and City Guilds qualifications covering our full range of security, fire and DDA system disciplines.

CDS Security & Fire have a stringent Quality Control policy to ensure that our Systems are tested prior to installation, on installation and are further covered by a 12 month Warranty on Parts and Labour.

Our installations and management systems are independently audited by NACOSS (NSI) on a 6 monthly basis.
