At CDS Security & Fire we design, install, maintain and service systems that range from those comprising of only one or two manual call points and sounders, to complex networked systems, incorporating a large number of fire detectors, manual call points and sounders connected to inter-communicating control panels. |

The monitoring of fire signals and subsequent transmission to the relevant fire brigade authorities to ensure automatic fire brigade response can be carried out by our 24-hour monitoring and alarm-receiving centre.
Accredited to BAFE, we ensure all systems are designed, installed and maintained to BS 5839, BS 5266 and SP203 BAFE Compliance.
Due to the legal requirement to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment, the majority of premises require a Fire Detection system, either for the protection of life or for the protection of goods, valuables, processes and machinery within the premises.

New CFOA Guidelines recommend the following timescales for remotely monitored fire alarms:
From 1st April 2007 all Remotely Monitored Fire Alarm Systems with a Unique Reference Number (URN) need to be maintained by a 3rd Party Certified Company.
From 1st April 2008 all new Remotely Monitored Fire Alarm Systems need to be designed, installed and commissioned by a 3rd party certificated company with BS5839 Part 1 in their scope.
The majority of Fire Brigades have now signed up to the CFOA document, which means that after these dates those Fire Brigades can refuse to respond to fire alarms raised by an automatic alarm receiving centre unless backed up by a 999 call, or, the associated Fire Detection and Alarm system has a registered URN. |
