We worked alongside McNally & Thompson on this project. McNally & Thompson are a leading electrical contractor with a strong reputation for delivering quality projects across various sectors. For this project, they partnered with Gateshead NHS Foundation Trust, the organisation behind the Community Diagnostic Centre at the Metrocentre which aims to improve access to critical diagnostic services for the local community. 

What they needed?

McNally & Thompson approached CDS Security & Fire to help provide comprehensive security and safety solutions for the Community Diagnostic Centre at the Metrocentre, a project driven by Gateshead NHS Foundation Trust in collaboration with Newcastle Hospitals. The state-of-the-art facility required robust systems to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff and sensitive equipment while maintaining a welcoming environment for visitors. Key requirements included access control, surveillance, and emergency response systems to support the centre’s critical role in providing imaging and respiratory and cardiac investigations.  

How we helped:

We worked closely with McNally & Thompson to install various advanced security systems tailored to the centre’s needs. We installed Salto access control to manage and secure entry points, ensuring only authorised personnel could access restricted areas. An IP CCTV system was installed to provide surveillance and enhance both safety and accountability across the centre. We integrated the Vox Ignis Disabled Refuge system to support inclusive evacuation planning and Honeywell Galaxy Intruder alarms to safeguard potential security threats. Our solutions helped create a secure and efficient environment that supports the vital diagnostic services provided by the CDC.
