Part of Tyne Coast Academy Trust, Redby Academy is a mainstream primary school in Sunderland. As part of their commitment to maintaining a secure and safe learning environment, the Trust sought to upgrade Redby Academy’s fire safety and surveillance systems.
What they needed?
Redby Academy needed to replace its outdated and non-conforming fire alarm system with a modern, fully compliant Category L1 fire alarm system that adhered to BS5839 standards. The school also needed a new site-wide IP CCTV system to enhance security measures and ensure comprehensive coverage across the premises. With the work scheduled during the six-week summer holidays, all installations, testing and commissioning needed to be completed before students returned for the new school term.
How we helped:
Our expert engineers installed, tested and commissioned a new Category L1 fire alarm system to BS5839 standards to ensure the school met the highest safety requirements. We also implemented an IP CCTV system to provide sitewide surveillance and improve the overall security of the school. We successfully completed the project within the six-week summer holiday period, making sure the school was ready for the start of the new term with significantly improved safety and security systems in place.
