Crook Hall Gardens is a National Trust site home to a stone manor house dating back to the 13th century with beautiful gardens just outside of Durham City. The Grade I listed medieval domestic building, Crook Hall, is surrounded by well-maintained English-style gardens.
Our involvement in safeguarding Crook Hall Gardens marks our seventh ever project working with a National Trust property, underscoring our expertise in preserving and protecting historically significant sites.
What they needed?
Crook Hall Gardens sought help from team CDS to address a crucial need: the installation of new Fire Alarm equipment. Recognising the importance of fire safety measures to protect their historic property, the site required a solution that would mitigate the risk of significant disruption across the site.
However, they faced the challenge of wanting to ensure adequate fire safety without enduring the substantial disturbance typically associated with traditional hardwired fire detection systems. Balancing the imperative for enhanced safety with the desire to maintain the tranquil ambience of the gardens, Crook Hall Gardens turned to CDS Security for a seamless and non-intrusive solution to their fire safety requirements.
How we helped:
We helped Crook Hall Gardens by implementing the Kentec K-Mesh Wireless Fire Detection system which effectively eliminated the risk of significant disruption across the site. Unlike traditional hardwired systems, the wireless nature of the Kentec K-Mesh solution offered a streamlined installation process without the need for extensive cabling, therefore preserving the tranquil atmosphere of the heritage site.
