Headlam Hall
Headlam Hall is a former stately home situated in lower Teesdale, halfway between Darlington and Barnard Castle, that has been converted into an idyllic rural retreat. The site comprises a hotel, spa, restaurant and golf course and beautiful grounds.
We have previously worked with Headlam Hall providing fire and intruder alarm system maintenance, repairs and additions across the site.
What they needed?
In the main hotel area of Headlam Hall, their wireless fire alarm system was beginning to near the end of its expected 10-year lifespan. This meant that the alarm system was beginning to show faults and not work as effectively as it did when it was first installed.
To ensure that guests and hotel staff could continue to enjoy a safe and relaxing environment, we approached Headlam Hall ahead of the end of the 10-year lifespan to find a convenient time when we could upgrade their system.
The client agreed that we could undertake the upgrade during January 2023, which is generally a quieter time for their business.
How we helped:
Although we were completing the work during a quiet period, Headlam Hall needed to remain fully operational while we implemented the upgrades to the main hotel’s wireless fire alarm system.
We installed a new EMS Wireless Fire Alarm System with minimal disruption to hotel guests and staff. We achieved this by carrying out all of the work in around a total of 4 days.
To save time on-site we pre-programmed the wireless devices in our office prior to attending. This allowed us to spend no longer than necessary in each hotel room as we installed and tested each new smoke detector.
The way that we handled the work meant that the client was pleased with the speediness of the operation and guests were happy with the lack of disruption to their stays.
